Karl Miller

Assistant Dean for Development
As Assistant Dean for Development in the College of Education, Karl Miller is responsible for securing major endowment gifts, maintaining beneficial relationships with donors and coordinating activities and events that facilitate fundraising. Working closely with the College's dean, faculty and advisory council, as well as with The University of Texas at Austin's administration, resource development office and alumni organization, Miller organizes and manages outreach efforts that communicate the College's successes and promote its mission and projects. The assistant dean's strategic planning and relationship-building make many faculty members' research possible and build the human and financial resources of the College.
A native of Puerto Rico, Miller obtained both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from Western Kentucky University, where he served as Director of Development for the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences before joining UT. Prior to his employment at WKU, Miller served eight years as Assistant Director and Director of Admissions at Lindsey Wilson College, a liberal arts college in Kentucky. While there, Miller’s staff broke several enrollment records and Lindsey Wilson became the fastest-growing private college in Kentucky. Miller also held the post of Assistant to the President for Corporate and Foundation Relations at Lindsey Wilson.
Miller has been an active member of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and is a founding member of Educating Latinos for Kentucky’s Future. His wife, Jennifer, is a 1992 WKU graduate, and they have two children, Tristan Chase and Karlie Mclain.
